About Seconde Vie
Curated vintage furniture & objects
Seconde Vie, French for Second Life, was born out of a passion for seeking out beautiful vintage pieces and giving them a second chance, a second life, if you will, in a new home. Our vintage pieces and curated collections are selected for their character, beauty, and timeless appeal, with sustainability in mind.
Paula Scott, the founder of Seconde Vie, has been buying and selling vintage items for over 20 years. As a child, her parents furnished their home almost entirely with second-hand furniture and homewares, partly out of necessity, but mostly because of their love for antiques and vintage treasures. In the early 90s, she moved to London with her parents, where weekends were often spent being “dragged” around junk shops, demolition yards, and antique stores - outings Paula would eventually grow to love. Her mother, an artist, would regularly come home with magazines like The World of Interiors, Vogue, Maisons Côté Ouest, Sud & Est, or an art book she'd picked up at an exhibition she'd just been to, all of which Paula would pore over, helping her develop an eye for design and an appreciation for the many styles and movements that have shaped interiors over time.

After graduating with a degree in Art and Design in London, and whilst working in retail, she refined her sourcing skills across markets in the UK and Europe.
Since returning to New Zealand and having children, Paula has developed an even stronger commitment to mindful, sustainable living. Her aim is to make quality vintage more accessible, encouraging a return to considered purchasing and ensuring these pieces are appreciated and enjoyed for years to come.
Welcome to Seconde Vie ~
